“Gallia was a Romano-Gallic goddess, possibly related to the region of Europe known to the Romans as Gallia (Gaul). The only evidence of her name to date is an altar set up at Vindolanda by its auxiliary garrison of the 4th cohort of Gauls, stationed there from the early 3rd century onwards. Its inscription reads:
CIVES GALLI
DE GALLIAE
CONCORDES
QUE BRITANNI
Of which a free translation would be “The troops from Gaul dedicate this statue to the goddess Gallia with the full support of the British born troops”.”
Greetings and Welcome to the Gallia’s Greeters!
The job of a Greeter for Minerva’s Site Competition is an easy but VERY important one! It is the job of greeting new sites for the competition.
At the beginning of each week, you are given a list of new sites to welcome to MSC.
The number of sites that are to be welcomed each week depends on the number of sites approved for the week by the owners.
(usually 2 to 4 per week)
If you are interested in being on this committee you should be willing to give a minimum of 1 hour a week of your time.
You should know how to attach a graphic in an email, and/or place graphics in guestbooks.
Just a couple small rules for the Gallia’s Greeters, to keep us running smoothly.
#1) Respond to Roll Calls within 48 hours of the email.
#2) All assignments must be completed by Saturday of the Week the Assignment is given.
#3) When you need LOA, please let me know. Thanks!
